Nick Buscemi will start on the mound tonight for Cincinnati.

SETTING THE SCENE: The University of Cincinnati baseball team will tune-up for a weekend Conference USA battle with No. 28 TCU, hosting Kentucky State tonight at 6:30 p.m. The Bearcats enter the night?s contest with an overall mark of 19-23 and will be taking their third shot at picking up win number 20 of the year. Kentucky State, a member of the Division II Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, is 6-17 in 2005

ABOUT KENTUCKY STATE: The Thorobreds have dropped four straight and five of their last six to fall to 6-17 this season. A member of the Division II Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, KSU has faced Division I schools Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky this year. EKU is a common opponent between UC and KSU as the Bearcats face the Colonels on May 17. Chris Taylor has been Kentucky State?s top hitter this year, batting .397 with a team-high 15 RBI. The Thorobreds have struggled at the plate as a team, hitting just .231 with 11 home runs. On the mound, Chris Wade has been the squad?s top hurler and he will make the start in tonight?s contest. For the year, Wade, a freshman is 1-1, with a team-best 4.25 ERA and two complete games. Tonight?s match-up is just the sixth since 1958 between the schools and the first since 1981.

ANOTHER FAMILIAR FACE: Kentucky State?s roster features a former Bearcat as Lamont Harris is a catcher and outfielder for the Thorbreds. Harris was a walk-on to the UC roster last season and did not see any game action. He is hitting .294 with five RBI for KSU.
