CINCINNATI, Ohio -- John Williamson received two awards, including the WXIXcellence Award, and Deonta Vaughn also snagged a pair of honors at the University of Cincinnati postseason awards banquet at the Kingsgate Marriott on the campus of the University of Cincinnati.

The recipient of UC's top rebounder award, Williamson finished ninth in the BIG EAST Conference with a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. The junior from Columbus, Ohio, paced the team in field-goal accuracy (48.8 percent) and finished second in scoring (13.5 points per contest).

A freshman from Indianapolis, Vaughn distributed a team-high 3.5 assists per game to receive the Bearcats' assist award. An All-BIG EAST Rookie Team pick, he scored a team-high 14.5 points per game, starting in 27 contests. Vaughn took home the program's Ball of Courage Award.

Connor Barwin, who played in 23 games after joining team following the football season, was honored with the Oscar Robertson Award. The award recognizes dedication and commitment as well as on-court accomplishments.

The Most Improved Award was shared by a pair of first-year Bearcats. Marcus Sikes, a junior from Richmond, Va., drained 42.5 percent from three-point territory to lead the team. Marvin Gentry came off the bench for much of the season to score 7.4 points per contest.

A 6-6, forward from Miami, Fla., Cedric McGowan netted 75 percent from the charity stripe to win the Free Throw Percentage Award.

Based on deflections throughout the season, junior guard Jamual Warren garnered the Defensive Player of the Year trophy.

The Bearcats posted an overall record of 11-19 in 2006-07.
