Here's what's going on this week in UC sports:
- The undefeated men's basketball team will host Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fifth Third Arena. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Ohio/BIG EAST Network and on the radio on 700WLW. The Bearcats will then take on Oklahoma at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. The game will be televised on ESPNU and on the radio on 700WLW. Cincinnati is 8-0 (0-0 BIG EAST).
- The women's basketball team will host Louisville (7-3) in its first BIG EAST game of the season at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fifth Third Arena. UC will then play Wright State (4-4) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats are 5-2 (0-0 BIG EAST).

In case you missed it:
- The men's basketball team defeated Utah Valley State, 92-72, last Saturday at Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats are off to their best start since 2004-05. They won their first 11 games and reached the NCAA Tournament that season.
- The football team had seven student-athletes earn All-BIG EAST Conference honors, including first-team selections Zach Collaros and Armon Binns. Tight end Ben Guidugli, center Jason Kelce, running back Isaiah Pead, linebacker J.K. Schaffer, and wide receiver D.J. Woods were named to the second team. The team also held its postseason banquet last week, handing out team awards to several players.
- The women's track and field team placed third in the Early Bird Track and Field Meet last Friday at Eastern Illinois University. UC finished with a total of 119 points behind Indiana State's 178.5 and Eastern Illinois' 147.5. The Bearcats had multiple record-setting performances. Senior Natasha Burse finished first in the 60-meter dash after setting a UC record (7.48 seconds) and also came out victories in the 200-meter dash (25.27 seconds). Junior Mackenzie Fields won the pole-vault competition with a height of 13-01.50 feet, which set a Lantz Fieldhouse record and ranks third all-time in Cincinnati history. Junior Aricka Rhodes finished first in the 400-meter dash (57.55 seconds).
- Three members of the women's volleyball team, seniors Stephanie Niemer and Annie Fesl, and sophomore Jordanne Scott were named to the Northeast All-Region team last Tuesday, after a 30-win 2010 season.
