PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A pair of University of Cincinnati men's soccer student-athletes were recognized by the American Athletic Conference Monday afternoon with freshman midfielder Kyle Healy (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) selected as Rookie of the Week, while junior goalkeeper Noah Lawrence (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Sacred Heart) was picked for the weekly honor roll.

The Bearcats (1-2) picked up their first win of the season last week, a 2-1 home win over Albany. They followed with a narrow loss, a 2-1 setback to No. 10 Xavier at Nippert Stadium.

Healy played in both matches, but really made his presence felt against the Musketeers, pulling UC within a goal with a score during the 64th minute. The rookie deposited a header off of a senior Donovan Segree (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College/Daytona State) corner kick to bring the score to 2-1. The goal was the first of his UC career.

Playing 180 minutes on the week, Lawrence recorded nine saves, including a season-high six against Albany. On the year, the junior has 12 saves which is best in the league and top 60 nationally.

These weekly accolades are the first this season for the Bearcats.
