University of Cincinnati volleyball hits the road this week for two matches in the third week of American Athletic Conference play. UC travels to UConn for a 7 p.m. match on Friday then goes to Temple for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday.

// OPPONENT OVERVIEW
• The Bearcats are 14-6 all-time versus the Huskies
• UConn is off to an even 8-8 start and 2-2 conference record this season
• The team was swept by UCF then turned around to sweep USF
• Last weekend UConn won 3-1 at Temple before returning home to face a 3-0 loss to Tulane
• The Bearcats won 3-1 at Storrs in 2018 and by the same score on the road in 2017
• The last time the Huskies won the matchup was both meetings in 2013. Both were five-set matches
• UC is 7-9 all-time against Temple
• The Owls are 9-6 overall and have yet been able to capture an AAC victory
• They lost in straight sets at UCF and USF then lost at home 3-1 to UConn and 3-2 to Houston
• Last season the Bearcats swept the Owls on the road
• In 2017, the Owls won on home court by a score of 3-1
• The two teams split in 2016 with UC losing 0-3 at home before a 3-2 victory in Philadelphia

• Going in to the weekend the team ranks second in the nation in kills per set, third in assists per set, sixth in hitting percentage and 15th in aces per set
• After posting an alarming 9.29 kills per set this past week, Jordan Thompson is top in the country in kills, points, kills per set and points per set. She was the national leader in all four categories last season
• Armania Heckenmueller ranks fourth in the nation in assists per set
• In the conference, Maria Mallon is third in aces per set and sixth in kills per set
• Adria Oliver has the fourth-highest hitting percentage in the AAC with Thompson as the league leader

• UC remains on the road next weekend as the team makes the trip to Tulane and Houston
• The Bearcats will then return home to play their next five matches in Fifth Third Arena
• UC starts the home stretch by hosting Memphis on Friday, October 25 at 7 p.m.
• That will be followed by a 1 p.m. match against SMU on Sunday
