The University of Cincinnati volleyball team earned an at-large bid to the 2019 NCAA Volleyball Championship tournament and will face VCU in the first round Friday night at 4 p.m. in Pittsburgh.

UC earns the third at-large bid in American Athletic Conference history as they also did so in 2018 and 2016. The tournament field was released live on ESPNU Sunday evening. No. 6 Pittsburgh will be the host of the four-team field that will also include Howard. The winning team to come out of Pittsburgh will advance to Regionals set for December 13-14.

Last season as an at-large selection, the Bearcats advanced to the second round for just the fifth time in program history as they swept Illinois State before being defeated by Marquette. UC ended the regular season 25-6 and 15-1 in the AAC to be crowned regular season champions. This marks the 12th NCAA tournament appearance for the program. UC has won five matches in NCAA tournament play.
