LAST TIME OUT
UC fell to undefeated Davidson on Sunday, 15-4 in cold, wet conditions. The Bearcats caused five turnovers after a season-high 13 in the Friday win over Gardner-Webb and also had just three free-position shots.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kylie Nause, the league's 2019 Freshman of the Year, earned her first Attacker of the Week honor on Monday. She has collected a hat trick in all five games this season, including two this week. Nause had seven goals overall, including four shots on seven shots in Friday's win over Gardner-Webb, in which she also scooped up a ground ball.

Her 3.40 goals per game (17 total) ranks fourth in the league, and her 96 as a Bearcat ranks sixth all-time. Not only that, she is accounting for an AAC-best 35 percent of her team's goals (Temple's Quinn Nicolai is 30.2). Her 21 hat tricks rank third in school history, nine away from second.

She and Ava Goeller earned Honor Roll nods in each of the first two weeks of the season.

MILESTONES
Alyssa Adams has eased back into the fray after electing her fifth season in January. After a goal in the opener at Marquette, she scored three at Gardner-Webb to reach 102 for her career. Adams is two away from Courtney Curtis (2013-16) for third all-time.

Defensively, the Bearcats' nine goals allowed against Gardner-Webb was a season-low. They held four teams to single-digits in 2021.

KENT STATE SERIES
UC leads 3-0, with all of them over the last three years. It started with a 19-8 win in 2019, followed by a 25-8 road win in the finale before the COVID shutdown, also marking a school-record for goals. The Bearcats took a 15-5 win in Nippert Stadium in 2021. Alyssa Adams (five goals) and Nause (four) led the charge, with Kate Brocato getting 43 minutes and the win inside the net.

The Golden Flashes swept a road weekend at Presbyterian and Wofford after an 0-3 start, but fell to Robert Morris on Wednesday.

AKRON SERIES
This will be the first meeting between the teams. The Zips had the misfortunate of having their inaugural season in 2020, but shot up the ranks with a 7-8 record in 2021, their first full campaign. Akron defeated Kent State, 11-6, at home earlier this season.
