CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's golf team opens its spring season at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic from Sunday to Tuesday, Feb. 4-6.
The 54-hole event will be hosted at the par-72, 6,305-yard Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. A 7:30 a.m. ET shotgun start will be used for the first two rounds on Sunday and Monday. The final round on Tuesday will have a 6:30 a.m. ET shotgun start.
In addition to Cincinnati, the 15-team field includes host Purdue, Auburn, Georgia Southern, Furman, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Mercer, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, LSU, TCU, Arkansas, Louisiana-Monroe and Minnesota. Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.
The Bearcats lineup will feature senior Paola Rosario, sophomore Winnie Chiang, sophomore Mar García Jiménez, freshman Maggie Huett and freshman Lauren Pleiman.
The last time the Bearcats competed, they closed out their fall campaign with a third-place finish at The Judson in October. UC posted a team score of 885, using a tournament-best final round score of 289 to propel them to third.
Rosario led the Bearcats in the fall with a 72.53 stroke average. She recorded three top-10 finishes, including two third place finishes at the Jennifer Duke Invitational and The Judson.
