Twitter Highlights | Coach Kelly On First Take | Photo Gallery
CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati head football coach Brian Kelly spent a productive Friday at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn., appearing on numerous platforms on the network to promote the No. 8/10 Bearcats who are idle this week.
The day-long media barnstorming tour brought unprecedented publicity and exposure to the UC football program and to the University as a whole.
The UC travel party departed Lunken Airport at 8:15 a.m. and made the 2-hour flight to Connecticut. After a brief drive to Bristol, the group was met by Lisa Antonangeli of ESPN who served as the host for the day.
First up was a trip to the green room prior to a live appearance on ESPN First Take with Jay Crawford where Coach Kelly met up with anlysts Herm Edwards and Robert Smith. Then it was down the hall and into Studio E where First Take is aired. You can see video of that segment by clicking the link at the top of this story. Skip Bayless and Rob Parker were also on hand in the studio.
From there, it was over to the ESPN Radio area where Coach Kelly taped a radio hit with Mike Tirico for his Weekend Blitz radio program.
After lunch, a trip to the wellness center and the ESPN store, it was back to the radio side of things for a taping with Jon Stashower of College GameDay Tailgate, which will air Saturday morning on ESPN Radio.
Next up was a trip to Studio A for a taping of Outside the Lines with Steve Bunin. The segment, which covers the rise of the UC program, the BIG EAST Conference, and quarterback Tony Pike's Heisman Trophy chances, will air on Oct. 15.
After a walk over to Studio G, Coach Kelly participated in College Football Live with Erik Kuselias, and Smith. Prior to a segment on the Bearcats, Kelly taped several segments and Q&A's that will air through the rest of the season on the network. Kelly's son Patrick even got in on the action, taping an intro with his father for the segment on UC.
Bram Weinstein and ESPNews in Building 4 was next on the agenda where Coach Kelly taped a live segment on the network that covered many current topics in college football.
Coach Kelly closed out the day with a SportsCenter taping with anchor Jay Harris, which will air sometime next week on ESPN during the 6 p.m. show.
