MIAMI - Former University of Cincinnati linebacker Troy Evans helped lead the New Orleans Saints to a 31-17 win in Super Bowl XLIV, Sunday at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Fla.
Evans (1999-2000), a special teams captain, called the coin toss in the Saints favor prior to kickoff, the 13th-straight coin toss won for the NFC Champion in the Super Bowl.
Evans wrapped up his third season with the Saints and eighth in the NFL. He has played in all 19 games this season and is one of the top special teams players on the Saints and provides veteran depth to the linebacker corps. His career totals include 146 career tackles, three fumble recoveries and an interception.
