TicketsCINCINNATI - The American Athletic Conference announced its postseason awards for volleyball Tuesday morning with two University of Cincinnati student-athletes receiving honors. Carly Nolan was a unanimous selection to the All-Conference First Team and Erica Kostelac was selected as Second Team member.
Nolan earned First Team All-AAC recognition for the third time in her career. The junior finishes the season ranked second in the conference in kills per set (4.08) and 12th in aces (0.23) while leading in points per set (4.56). Nolan's production this season was not just high-ranking in the conference, she stood out nationally, too. The Bearcat currently sits tenth in attacks per set, 39th in kills per set and 37th in points per set in the country. Nolan was a two-time AAC Weekly Honor Roll member this season.
Kostelac posted impressive numbers in her first season on the court for UC. The redshirt-freshman finished tenth in the conference in kills per set (3.03) and 12th in points per set (3.30). Kostelac earned a spot on the ACC Weekly Honor Roll after the opening weekend of conference play as she averaged 4.00 kills per set and had a .352 hitting percentage with seven blocks in two UC victories.
This marks the third year in a row that two or more Bearcats have garnered all-conference honors. UC closes out the 2017 season 13-19 overall and 11-9 in the AAC, finishing sixth in the conference standings.
