CINCINNATI – Zach Harvey has signed a scholarship agreement to attend the University of Cincinnati and play basketball for the Bearcats head coach John Brannen has announced. He will have four years of eligibility beginning with the 2019-20 season.

A 6-foot-5, 185-pound guard from Topeka, Kansas, Harvey originally reclassified to the 2020 class in September 2018 before recently reverting to the 2019 class. As a 2020 prospect Harvey was tabbed a four-star prospect by 247Sports.com (No. 48) and Rivals.com (No. 50). Harvey was listed as the ninth-best shooting guard in the nation for the 2020 class by 247Sports.com.

"We would like to welcome Zach to the University of Cincinnati," Brannen said. "I've had the opportunity to evaluate Zach closely during the last several years on the AAU circuit as well as with USA Basketball. He brings the length, athleticism and play making ability we look for in guards for our system."

Harvey attended Prolific Prep Academy in Napa, California, during the 2018-19 season. He averaged 16.5 points, 4.9 assists and 4.8 rebounds through 11 games before an ankle injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year. The squad posted a 29-7 record, advancing to the semifinals of the Grind Session National Championship.

Last summer, Harvey played on the Under Armour Circuit for KC Run GMC, averaging 16.3 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 36.7 percent from three-point range.

Harvey earned class 4A-II all-state honors from both the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle as a junior after helping lead Hayden High School in Topeka to the state championship in 2017-18. He averaged 23.1 points and scored a game-high 34 points with six three-pointers in the state championship game.

Harvey also participated in the 2016 USA Basketball Junior National Team October minicamp and 2017 USA Basketball Men's U16 National Team training camp.
