Women’s Golf Wraps Day Two At AAC Championship

PINEHURST, N.C. – The University of Cincinnati women's golf team jumped a spot in the rankings and Katie Hallinan moved into a tie for 23rd after the second day of competition at the 2021 American Athletic Conference Championship on Monday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

PINEHURST, N.C. – The University of Cincinnati women's golf team jumped a spot in the rankings and Katie Hallinan moved into a tie for 23rd after the second day of competition at the 2021 American Athletic Conference Championship on Monday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
 
The Bearcats improved by 14 shots and moved into ninth place with a two-round total of 638. The course continues to play tough as the average score for round two checked in at 77.14 on the par-72, 6,290-yard layout. No player in the field of 50 finished under par Monday and just four total players shot 72 or even par.
 
Tulsa and East Carolina are tied for the lead at 18-over-par 594. The Pirates fired the best round of the day with their 296 effort which jumped them three places in the standings.
 
Hallinan shot a 4-over-par 76 on the Par-72, 6,290-yard layout at Pinehurst No. 6 and moved up four spots in the overall standings, sitting in a tie for 23rd position. ECU's Dorthea Forbrigd shot an even-par-round of 72 to take a two-shot lead after 36 holes.
 
Angela Lopez is tied for 39th, Vanessa Manrique and Sadie Pan are both tied in 43rd place and Paighton Masterson is 46th.

UP NEXT
The Bearcats will be pair up with Wichita State for the third-straight round and start on the 10th tee Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET.
 
Masterson leads the team off at 8 a.m., followed by Pan (8:08 a.m.), Manrique (8:16 a.m.), Lopez (8:24 a.m.) and Hallinan (8:32 a.m.).
