Cincinnati Director of Athletics John Cunningham announced on Wednesday several staff promotions for the new fiscal year, including the move of John Daniel to Deputy AD and Chief Operating Officer.

CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Director of Athletics John Cunningham announced on Wednesday several staff promotions for the new fiscal year, including the move of John Daniel to Deputy AD and Chief Operating Officer.
 
Joining Daniel in recent promotions and title changes to coincide with the recent rollover to the new 2024-25 fiscal year are:
  • Alex Coleman: Director of Olympic Sports Operations
  • Ashley Hecimovich: Administrative Associate to the Men's Basketball Head Coach
  • Dane Mehling: Director, Facilities
  • Lindsay Powell: Senior Account Executive, Athletic Ticketing
  • Lucas Rothenberger: Associate Head Coach Men's and Women's Cross Country / Assistant Coach Track & Field
  • Jack Triscari: Director, Ticket Operations
  • Spencer Tuckerman: Director, Social Media and Creative Content
  • Brady Zuver: Director, Business Operations
 
Daniel came to Cincinnati as the Executive Senior Associate AD/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from LSU in 2022.  
 
He is the football administrative oversight and leads all budgeting, financial forecasting and capital project efforts for the Cincinnati Athletics Department.
 
He helped lead Cincinnati's move into the Big 12 Conference and currently spearheads the $135 million Indoor Practice Facility and Performance Center Project.   
 
In his role as COO, Daniel will work with Cunningham on the strategic plan for the Bearcats as they compete for championships in the ever-changing college athletics landscape, including new revenue models, future financial planning and special projects.  
 
Daniel has more than a dozen years of experience in "Power 4" athletic departments.
 
At LSU, Daniel served as an administrative supervisor for multiple sports, while also managing oversight for the athletic department's IT team and special projects. He spent three years as the Associate AD for Business and Finance at TCU and four years at Texas A&M as the Director of Financial Reporting. He also spent time in the business office at Maryland.
 
Daniel earned his bachelor's degree in business management from LSU in 2010 and his master's degree in sports management in Baton Rouge in 2011. He also obtained his MBA from Ole Miss.
 
He and his wife, Arleen, have twin daughters, Dorothy and Evelyn.
