- One of the most decorated Bearcats of the 1940s.
- Two-way performer at halfback on the 1942 team that posted an 8-2 record, the lone losses to Rose Bowl-bound Georgia and Tennessee, which went on to play in the Sugar Bowl.
- Enlisted in the Navy for World War II and his assignment stationed him at UC's College of Medicine.
- Continued his athletic career, participating on the basketball teams of 1943-44-45.
- Cage squad's third-leading scorer his sophomore and junior campaigns.
- Earned a pair of letters as a pitcher on the 1942 and 1943 baseball teams and was an instrumental player when football returned in 1945.
- Earned his medical degree at UC's College of Medicine and later served as professor there.
- UC Athletic Hall of Fame 1995.
