CRITTENDON, Ky.---Behind a career-best round of 68 from Joe Young, the University of Cincinnati men's golf team is tied for the lead after one day of play at the LaRosa's Collegiate Cup, hosted by Northern Kentucky. Complete results from the opening round were not immediately available.
The Bearcats find themselves tied with Southern Indiana after 18 holes of the 36-round tournament. UC's score of 285 is just one shot off a season-best for the Bearcats.
Young's score betters his career-best by two shots. Sophomore Blake Tucker also had a solid first day as he carded a personal-best score of 71.
The tournament at Eagle Creek Country Club concludes on Sunday.
