NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati (6-3-1, 0-2-0 BIG EAST) women's soccer team played its second BIG EAST Conference match of the 2010 season on Friday against No. 5/9 Notre Dame (8-1-0, 2-0-0 BIG EAST) at Alumni Field. The Bearcats, playing their third straight match on the road, lost to the nationally ranked Fighting Irish, 4-0.

Notre Dame jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half after out-shooting the Bearcats 11-2 in the period. Kelli Pawelko (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) and Julie Morrissey (Abington, Mass./Tabor Academy) took UC's shots in the first half.

The Bearcats were more aggressive offensively in the second half, but the Irish held a 9-4 shot advantage. Rachel Barnette (Peachtree City, Ga./McIntosh) faced 15 shots over 63 minutes in goal before Ashley Daniels (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill) finished the match protecting the net for UC.

Cincinnati will return to Gettler Stadium for a BIG EAST contest on Sunday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. against DePaul.
