CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team began its fall camp Tuesday at Richard E. Lindner Athletics Center in preparation for the 2011 season.
The 31 student-athletes on the team went through orientation in the afternoon in the Bob Goin Team Room and met with the coaching staff, as well as various members of the athletics support staff.
For many of the 10 freshmen, Tuesday provided their first opportunity to receive playbooks and get acclimated to the Varsity Village facilities.
The Bearcats will begin physical training and practice Wednesday morning.
UC returns 19 letterwinners from last season, including leading goal scorer Emily Hebbeler (Park Hills, Ky./Notre Dame Academy).
Cincinnati is slated to play at Ball State University in an exhibition match at 4 p.m. on Aug. 12 one week before its season opener against California Polytechnic State University at 7 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Gettler Stadium.
