A pair of University of Cincinnati men's golfers compete in the nation's top amateur tournament, the U.S. Amateur, beginning Monday, Aug. 14, in Los Angeles, Calif.

A pair of University of Cincinnati men's golfers compete in the nation's top amateur tournament, the U.S. Amateur, beginning Monday, Aug. 14, in Los Angeles, Calif.  

Senior Davis Baxter (Nolensville, Tenn./Ravenwood High School) and junior Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School), who qualified for the prestigious event at Coldstream Country Club in July, are included among the 312-player field taking part in the seven-day event.

The two-day stroke play portion of the tournament starts Monday. Baxter will tee off at 2:10 p.m. PT at the Riviera Country Club (7,272 yards/Par 70) while Squires starts action at 1:39 p.m. PT at nearby Bel-Air Country Club (6,722 yards/Par 70).

The top 64 finishers in the stroke play event will advance to the five-day match play portion of the event at the Riviera Club.
