TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team will play Illinois State in the opening round of the 2019 Paradise Jam, as bracket information and tip times for the November event in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, were announced Monday.
The first-round matchup is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 22 at 5:45 p.m. ET at the University of Virgin Islands' Sports and Fitness Center in St. Thomas.
With a victory over Illinois State, Cincinnati would face the winner of the Western Kentucky-Bowling Green contest on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET. A loss to Illinois State would have the Bearcats playing the loser of the Western Kentucky-Bowling Green game on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 5 p.m. ET.
The final game of the event takes place on Monday, Nov. 25. Possible opponents include Nevada, Valparaiso, Fordham and Grand Canyon. Four games will be played on Nov. 25 beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The championship contest is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
Cincinnati holds a 2-1 edge in its series with Illinois State. The Redbirds topped the Bearcats 62-52 in the last series meeting on Dec. 8, 2007 at Fifth Third Arena.
