CINCINNATI – Four University of Cincinnati Lacrosse players earned All-American Athletic Conference honors as the league announced its 2021 postseason awards Wednesday.
M Alyssa Adams, A Monica Borzillo and M Sam Mlkvy were named First-Team All-AAC while D Morgan Dukes earned second-team honors.
Borzillo becomes the first four-time all-league honoree in school history, collecting First-Team All-AAC awards in 2019 and 2021 and Second-Team All-BIG EAST Conference accolades in 2017 and 2018.
Dukes and Mlkvy earned their second All-AAC awards. Both were first-team selections in 2019.
UC'S 2021 ALL-AAC HONOREES
ADAMS
• One of three 30-plus goal scorers on the team this year, hitting the back of the net 35 times.
• Added three assists, 23 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers and 60 draw controls.
• Selected as AAC Midfielder of the Week on March 15 after scoring eight goals with. 12 draw controls, four caused turnovers and three ground balls in games against Robert Morris and Central Michigan.
• Had eight multiple-goal games, netting a season-high five goals twice, against Kent State and Temple.
• Named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll on March 8.
BORZILLO
• Borzillo led the team with 36 goals and 24 assists. She also tallied 30 ground balls, 18 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers.
• The program's all-time leader in 16 categories, including: points (341), points per game (4.49), goals (196) and assists (145).
• Tabbed as AAC Attack Player of the Week on Feb. 15 and April 26, was named US Lacrosse Division I Women's Player of the Week on Feb. 16 and grabbed a spot on the AAC Honor Roll twice this year.
• Tied her own AAC, school and career marks with six assists and 11 points win the 2021 opener against Marquette.
DUKES
• Led the Bearcats in caused turnovers and ground balls with 17 and 44, respectively.
• Also picked up 13 draw controls and was selected for the AAC Weekly Honor Roll on Feb. 15 and March 15.
• Moved into the top spot in UC's record book in ground balls (182) and ground balls per game (3.19) and ranks third in caused turnovers per game (1.21) and sixth in caused turnovers (69).
MLKVY
• Played several roles on the year, excelling as a draw-control specialist, totaling an AAC-leading 81 draws on the year, including a school-record 15 in the season-opener against Marquette.
• Also scored 16 goals, dished our four assists, picked up 13 ground balls, caused seven turnovers and earned AAC Weekly Honor Roll accolades twice.
• Became UC's all-time leader in games played (78), draw controls (276) and draw controls per game (3.54).
• Her 135 career points ranks third all-time while her 101 goals (4th) and 34 assists (3rd) also sit in the Top-5 of program annals.

No. 4 seeded Cincinnati squares off with No. 1 seeded Florida on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. ET in the first of two AAC Championship semifinals at Donald R. Dizney Stadium in Gainesville.
Temple and Vanderbilt will play in the tournament's second semifinal on May 6, 45 minutes after the completion of the Florida-Cincinnati contest. The schools tied for second in The American's regular-season standings and split their series in Nashville this weekend, but Vanderbilt earned the No. 2 seed, while Temple will be the No. 3 seed, based on head-to-head goal differential.
The 2021 Championship will be The American's second postseason tournament in women's lacrosse. Florida won the inaugural tournament in 2019, while the 2020 championship was canceled.
All three games of The American Championship will be available on ESPN+. The most up-to-date information on the tournament will be available on the conference's Championship Central site.
