The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team will host  Miami (OH) University in its 2022-23 season home opener on Saturday, Oct. 8.

CINCINNATI— The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team will host  Miami (OH) University in its 2022-23 season home opener on Saturday, Oct. 8.

"We are really excited to race back-to-back weekends and host Miami (OH) at UC, which is always a fun rival meet," head Coach Mandy Commons-DiSalle said. "I am looking forward to seeing how our team adjusts in their individual events coming off of last weekend. I expect to see some improvements with the training we have put in this week and, of course, take advantage of the electric energy on campus with the homecoming game taking place shortly after."
 
The dual meet will start with the diving portion at 9 a.m. ET at the Keating Aquatics Center, followed by the swimming races scheduled to start at 11 a.m. ET.
 
Results of the dual meet can be found here and will also be posted on the schedule following the conclusion of the meet.
 
The dual meet is free and open to the public for those wishing to attend.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The UC swimming and dive teams opened their season on the road in Indianapolis, competing in a dual meet against the University of Indianapolis on Saturday, Oct. 1.

The women's team won 158 to 136 while the men's team fell short 161.5 to 138.5. Freshman Joleigh Crye led the way for the women's team, picking up event wins in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.74) and the 100-yard butterfly (56.62). In total, the women's team won eight events; five were won by freshmen.
 
Reigning American Athletic Conference Male Swimmer of the Year, senior Michael Balcerak, picked up right where he left off last season. Balcerak claimed two event wins, winning both the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.17) and the 100-yard freestyle (46.30).
 
SCOUTING MIAMI (OH)
The RedHawks split their season-opening dual at home against Oakland University on Friday, Sept. 30. The women's team won 208-92 while the men's team fell to Oakland 160-140.
