TicketsCINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati Director of Athletics John Cunningham announced on Friday the addition of Michael Thomas to the UCATS and University of Cincinnati Foundation teams.
Thomas will serve as the Associate Athletics Director for Major and Principal Gifts.
"I've known Michael for many years so I know firsthand what a tremendous asset he will be to our athletic department and the University of Cincinnati as a whole," Cunningham said. "He is an outstanding relationship builder and possesses a relentless work ethic. I'm thrilled he has joined our Bearcats family, and I am looking forward to seeing the positive impact he has on our fundraising efforts."
Thomas joins UC from Minnesota where he was the Director of Development, Major Gifts, since 2019. He raised over $11 million during his stint and assisted in the nearly-funded $166 million "Nothing Short of Greatness" campaign.
"I am extremely thankful for Director of Athletics John Cunningham for affording me this incredible opportunity," Thomas said. "I am excited to work with our dedicated and passionate Bearcat alumni, fans, supporters, and colleagues as we gear up to join the Big 12."
He also worked at New Mexico State as a Development Officer for Athletics from 2017 to 2019, helping lead the Aggie Athletic club to its best year-over-year growth while setting new records for total memberships.
Thomas worked in the ticket office at FGCU from 2015 to 2017, as well, and has additional experience at Northern Iowa and Missouri.
He brings nine years of athletic development experience to UC as well as an additional eight years of sales experience.
Thomas earned his bachelor's degree from Missouri Valley College and his master's from Missouri Baptist University.
