CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati men's golfers Sam Jean and William McDonald have earned GCAA All-American Scholar honors for their 2022-23 performances.

To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Jean has collected a bevy of honors this season, including his second Academic All-America award and the AAC's Men's Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year. He is the only one of the team's primary lineup from last year not returning, having graduated and beginning his pro career. McDonald had a 71.94 stroke average and had a season-best 10th-place finish at the AAC Championships.

Cincinnati begins its season Sept. 3 at the Marquette Intercollegiate.
