TicketsCINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati redshirt junior first baseman Ryan Nicholson was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll on Monday. It is the second such honor for Nicholson this season, adding to his selection on February 20.
Nicholson batted .400 (4-for-10) with a home run, double and three runs scored in three starts last week. He finished with a .538 on-base percentage and .800 slugging percentage.
He went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and RBI against Wofford on Saturday. He belted his fourth home run of the season on a solo shot in the first inning.
In UC's 10-5 win over EKU on March 8, he finished 1-for-2 and tied a career-high three walks.
Nicholson has a .333 average (16-for-48) with four home runs, six RBI and 10 runs scored in 13 starts. He leads the club in hits (16), home runs (4), doubles (4) and walks (8).
The Bearcats return to the diamond on Tuesday when they take on Winthrop for a pair of midweek contests at Winthrop Ballpark in Rock Hill, S.C.
