CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team heads to Louisville, Ky., this weekend to compete in the Bellarmine Classic.
 
The Bearcats will face IU Indy (9:30 a.m.) and UAB (5 p.m.) on Friday. They will wrap up the tournament with a match against host Bellarmine at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Cincinnati's match versus Bellarmine will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+. The other two matches will be available through live stats.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Cincinnati and UAB have met 20 times in their history, with the Bearcats holding a 14-6 edge. The two teams will be meeting for the first time in 16 years.
 
The Bearcats hold a perfect 9-0 record against IU Indy, with the series dating back to 1988. The two teams last met in 2016, resulting in a sweep for the Bearcats at the Shockers Volleyball Classic.
 
Cincinnati and Bellarmine will be meeting for the first time in program history.
 
WALKER, LEFLER EARN ALL-TOURNEY ACCOLADES
Seniors Abby Walker and Katelyn Lefler were named to the Best Western Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Walker averaged a monster 2.22 blocks per set to go along with 3.00 kills per set at a .382 clip. She nearly recorded a double-double with 12 kills (.550 pct) and nine blocks vs. BGSU. She tied her career high in blocks, which she set against Chicago State on Saturday. Lefler averaged 9.11 assists, 1.44 digs and 1.00 block per set at the setter position. She dished out 30 assists to go along with two aces, five blocks and three digs vs. BGSU.
 
The Bearcats finished the weekend with a record of 2-1, securing consecutive sweeps against Chicago State and Bowling Green.
 
IT'S A BLOCK PARTY
Cincinnati's block was on full display this weekend, dominating the block category with a plus-22 advantage (33-11). The Bearcats currently rank second in the Big 12 and fifth nationally in blocks per set (3.67). In its victory over BGSU, UC notched 15 blocks, which ranks third in the nation for a three-set match.
 
Abby Walker posted a career-high nine blocks in wins against both BGSU and Chicago State, tying her for third in the nation for blocks in a three-set match.
 
FRAME, STEWART MEET THE MOMENT
Freshmen Faith Frame and Fallon Stewart both made a strong impression in their collegiate debuts, starting in all matches of the opening weekend. Frame, serving as the team's starting libero, averaged 3.22 digs per set and recorded a match-high 16 digs in her debut against Illinois. She also went a combined 25-for-25 on service reception in wins over Chicago State and BGSU.
 
Stewart, starting at the outside hitter position, averaged 2.13 kills and 1.63 digs per set across eight sets. She delivered a standout performance against BGSU with 11 kills at a .304 hitting percentage, marking her first career double-digit kill match.
