CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Jolinda (Lewis) Miller, a former University of Cincinnati women's basketball player, has returned to UC to assume the position of program coordinator for the women's basketball team.

Miller, a four-year starter with the Bearcats from 1994-98, will be responsible for the administrative duties of the program, handling housing, financial aid, fundraising and community service issues.

"Jolinda's charisma and past experience here as a player will bring a great deal of strength to our program," head coach Laurie Pirtle said. "She has great knowledge of our program and knows how things work. I think she's an excellent addition."

A three-time all-conference selection as a guard, Miller still holds UC career records for 3-point field goals made (292), attempted (783) and percentage (.360) as well as free throw percentage (.835). Additionally, she tops the UC charts for single-season records for 3-pointers made (78) and attempted (199) and single-game 3-pointers made (6) and attempted (14).

Miller is one of three Bearcat players to finished her freshman campaign as the team's leading scorer, placing her among Hall of Famer Linda Norwell (1973-77) and last season's freshman sensation Valerie King. She started 93 of 112 career games, averaging 13.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

A native of Coshocton, Ohio, Miller previously worked in the country music industry in Tennessee, handling various production duties and touring with music acts, including singer George Strait the last two years. Miller earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Cincinnati in 1998 and will work towards earning her master's of education while at UC.

She replaces Christina Jansen, who resigned to relocate to the Charleston, S.C. area.
