, - The University of football team will take a break from two-a-days at to make a stop at 's on Sunday, Aug. 20 from 1-6:30 p.m.
The team, along with the Bearcat Band, cheerleaders and dance squad, will be stationed throughout the park to sign autographs and distribute posters and UC Athletics ticket information. The band, cheerleaders and dance team will perform in a 1:30 p.m. parade through the park.
"We've been able to go out to each of the past two years," said head coach Mark Dantonio. "This is a fun experience to break up the routine of preseason camp and it's been a very positive thing for our program."
We ask the players to wear a UC football t-shirt to the park and to get as many signatures on that t-shirt as possible,"continued Dantonio. "We want them to understand how many people they can impact in one day's time."
The Bearcats will host Meet the Team Night on Aug. 27. The festivities will start on Sheakley Lawn beginning at 6 p.m. Bearcats student-athletes and coaches will be available for photos and autographs. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided as well as ticket information, schedule cards and posters. Inflatable football toss and other activities will be available for fan entertainment. The action moves to Nippert Stadium for an open scrimmage which kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
