CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team played to a 4-4 draw with Michigan this afternoon at Gettler Stadium in the Bearcats' exhibition finale. UC finished its exhibition slate 2-0-1.

Despite controlling possession for the majority of the first half, the Bearcats found themselves behind, 2-0, after Michael Parke and Jake Stacy tallied goals for the visitors. Junior Noah Davidson (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North) got UC on the board in the 64th minute after a beautiful feed from senior Omar Cummings (, / ) put him in all alone with keeper Ryan Bennett.

The Bearcats quickly knotted the match when junior Kevin Schrand (/Lakota West) chipped a shot from 50 yards into the goalbox. A backpedaling Bennett was unable to control the ball and allowed it to cross the line for UC's second tally. On the restart after the goal, senior Kwame Sarkodie (/Carroll) found himself alone in front of the net and buried a volley to give UC its first lead.

Junior Kenny Anaba (, / Christian) added UC's fourth marker in the 84th minute, giving the Bearcats a two-goal advantage.

Two late goals by the Wolverines produced the final tally.

The four UC goals in the second half were more than the Bearcats scored in any match last season.

"It was a game of runs," said UC head coach Hylton Dayes. "I think we all know that this team can score some goals. This game will provide us with some good coaching points for this week's training. Overall, I think that the preseason was a success."

The Bearcats will kick off the regular season at crosstown rival Xavier on Friday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. Season tickets and Olympic Sports Passes are available now by calling 1-877-CATS-TIX or logging on to UCBearcats.com.
