Opening Statement: "Well, we have another challenge this week with Louisville. I think everyone knows a little bit about Brian Brohm, if you don't then you've missed a very, very good football player. He's one of those guys that can make a difference in a ball game. Very rarely do you go up against an individual that can beat you in a team game like football, and he's one of those guys that can beat you. Clearly, from an offensive standpoint they lead the country in scoring, they've got a number of weapons offensively, and they're a very dangerous football team. If you look at their schedule, in terms of the Kentucky game, their one play away from being 5-1 coming into this football game. It's a good football team, it's going to present an incredible challenge for our football team, but one that we knew when this game was going to scheduled that we would need to play our best against Louisville and that's certainly going to be the case on Saturday.
On the character of his football team: "I knew our football team pretty well, you don't question their character, but rather how they will respond when the circumstances are such, and they were down 17-7 at the half. So you question how they are going to respond. I know who I got, but you also want to know how they will respond to a hostile environment, on the road, down 17-7. They responded by playing their best football in the second half, which clearly they had to. I don't think it's ever an issue of character, but how they will respond to adversity.
On Louisville's defense: "When you watch them, clearly they have talented football players on the defensive side of the ball. They also graduated some very good seniors; they lost a very good safety to an ACL earlier. It looks like a talented football team that has had some plays go against them. But they play hard, it's hard for me to look at them and think that the defense is a mess. That's not the case, they have some good players. I think Utah did some good things offensively, and caught them in a situation that got them up early. Again they got up 21-7 early and held on to win, kind of like the Syracuse game, where they were up early and held on to win.
On what separates Brian Brohm from other quarterbacks: "Patience, he's very patient, if you're going to take away the vertical throw, he's willing to dump it off. Great vision sees everything from sideline to sideline. He doesn't get rattled, you never see him get too emotional. He just looks like a professional quarterback playing a college game. He goes through his progression and checks it off. That quality of being very patient is the main thing."
