CINCINNATI - The official apparel provider of the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics, adidas, is sponsoring a soccer hat giveaway to the first 300 UC students and fans attending this Friday night's men's soccer match vs. Notre Dame or Sunday's women's soccer match vs. No. 1 ranked Notre Dame.

The men's match on Friday begins at 7 p.m. while the women kick off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, followed by another BIG EAST men's match against Marquette at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The men's team (2-3-2, 0-1-1 BIG EAST) is looking for its first BIG EAST win of the season, starting 0-1-1 on a tough road trip last weekend. The Bearcats played No. 20/17 Providence to a 0-0 draw and led against No. 7/4 Connecticut for 85 minutes, before falling, 2-1. UC is led by senior defender Brad Simpson (Novi, Mich./Novi) and redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Matt Williams (Portland, Maine/Cheverus), who have combined to post four shutouts in the first seven matches of the season.

The women's soccer team (4-4-0, 0-1-0 BIG EAST) will wrap up its five-game road swing on Friday at DePaul. They return to Gettler Stadium led by freshman Julie Morrissey (Abington, Mass/Tabor Academy), who has tallied three goals and two assists on the season, leading the Bearcats with eight points. First-year head coach Michelle Salmon brings a more aggressive offensive style to Cincinnati as the Bearcats have scored 11 goals in its first eight matches. UC finished the 2007 season with 23 goals. The match against Notre Dame will be the second time in three years that Notre Dame will travel to Gettler Stadium with the nation's top ranking. In 2006, the Fighting Irish traveled to Cincinnati and came away with a 3-0 victory.

Admission to all soccer matches is free for UC students with a valid UC student ID or $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for youth (ages 12 and under).
