CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women's golf head coach Janet Carl announced Monday the signing of Lily Rinker to a National Letter of Intent for the 2018-19 season.

Rinker (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy) recently led St. Ursula to a third-place finish at the Ohio Division I state tournament with a score of 145 to tie for sixth place overall, earning second-team all-state honors.

"Lily brings with her a top high school and national golf resume," said Carl. "She is young golfer in terms of experience. She is strong in her length and putting. Her short game is becoming more solid. One of my favorite things about Lily is her fight. She fights from the start to the finish. We look for her to make a solid impact on our team, both from a golf standpoint and as a teammate."

Ranked 225 overall in the 2018 class by Junior Golf Scoreboard, Rinker totaled four additional top-four finishes in 2017 including runner-up at the GolfWeek Junior Tour at Elks Run. Furthermore, she carded a course record score of 62 at White Pines at the Perrysburg Lady Jacket Invitational, helping her team win the title.

Golf is in Rinker's blood with her Dad, Lee, and uncle, Larry, both spending time on the PGA Tour while her aunt, Laurie, enjoyed a successful career on the LPGA Tour. Additionally, Lee and Carl were both concurrent members of the University of Alabama golf program.
