CINCINNATI – Former University of Cincinnati men's basketball players Troy Caupain (Washington), Gary Clark (Houston) and Jacob Evans III (Golden State) will take part in the 2019 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League beginning this week.
The NBA Summer League features 95 games July 1-15. Four-team leagues in Salt Lake City and Sacramento begin Monday, July 1. All 30 NBA teams as well as the Chinese and Croatian National Teams will also participate in Las Vegas, July 5-15. A single-elimination playoff starts July 13.
ESPN will present every game from Las Vegas via the ESPN App, along with 43 games on its linear television networks (ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU). NBA TV, co-managed by the NBA and Turner Sports, will air a record 40 games.

Evans, along with his Golden State squad, begins play in the California Classic League, July 1-3, in Sacramento, prior to heading to Las Vegas. Drafted by the Warriors as the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft, Evans averaged 1.3 points in 6.8 minutes during 30 games with Golden State last season.
Evans averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists as a junior at Cincinnati during 2017-18 season, earning first team All-American Athletic Conference honors. He finished his three-year Bearcats career ranked seventh in school history with a .377 career three-point shooting percentage and finished 31st on the scoring list with 1,233 points.

Clark's Houston team starts play Saturday in Las Vegas. He signed a three-year contract with the Rockets last summer after going undrafted. Clark averaged 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.6 minutes during 51 games last season for Houston.
Clark averaged 12.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks in 2017-18 en route to earning honorable mention All-America accolades from the Associated Press. In addition, he was tabbed as the 2018 AAC Player of the Year, AAC Defensive Player of the Year and AAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Clark finished his UC career (2015-18) as one of only five players to tally more than 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. He set the school mark for career starts (137) while finishing second in victories (106) and consecutive games played (139); third in rebounds (1,132); fifth in blocks (180) and 16th in points (1,462).

Caupain will take part in the NBA Summer League for the third consecutive year, this summer with Washington. He previously played in the event with Toronto (2017) and Orlando (2018).
Caupain signed a two-way contract with Orlando last summer. He played in four games with the Magic during the 2018-19 campaign, averaging 2.5 points in 4.0 minutes. He spent most of the season with the NBA G League's Lakeland Magic, averaging 16.4 points, 5.4 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 49 games.
Caupain finished his Bearcats career (2014-17) as the only player in school history with more than 1,300 points and 500 assists. He handed out a school-record 515 career assists and tallied 1,317 career points, tying former Bearcats guard Cashmere Wright for 22nd place on Cincinnati's all-time scoring list.
