The latest episode of "Fresh Faces Presented by Kroger" introduces Bearcats Nation to UC men's basketball junior transfer guard David DeJulius

DeJulius played the previous two seasons at Michigan, including the 2019-20 campaign when he served as the squad's sixth man, playing in 31 games while averaging 7.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20.9 minutes.

"(David) brings leadership, experience of playing in big games and of course playmaking and scoring ability," UC coach John Brannen said when DeJulius signed with the Bearcats. "His toughness and feel for the game is outstanding."

"My playing style is the typical Midwest, Detroit point guard. I like to grind it out. Defensively, I want to get after it. Offensively, I want to make the best play possible for my team. But it all stems from toughness and hard work."

DeJulius was tabbed a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and 247Sports.com coming out of Detroit's East English Village Preparatory Academy. He was a finalist for Michigan's Mr. Basketball award after averaging 26.3 points, 8.1 assists and 7.7 rebounds as a senior.

DeJulius says he's enjoyed the bond he's already formed with his teammates and coaches.

"When you get to this level, it is business and a lot of times the other aspects of it kind of get scrapped under things, but here (the family atmosphere) is at the forefront," DeJulius said. "It's very, very family oriented and I feel that each and every one of these guys has my best interest at heart."

"Fresh Faces Presented by Kroger" will spotlight all Cincinnati men's and women's basketball newcomers leading up to the 2020-21 season.
