CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati's Aaron Bienenfeld was tabbed this week's AAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week following his record setting performance this past weekend at the Sound Running College Invite in the 10,000m.

For the third time this year, Bienenfeld claimed the top slot in the UC record books, continuing to build his legacy as one of the most accomplished distance runners in program history.

Bienenfeld kept his stride as the track and field program kicked off its outdoor season with a split season opener this past weekend. Accompanied by Alec Sandusky, the duo traveled to Riverside, California to take part in this year's Sound Running College Invite, hosted by California Baptist. The pair claimed second and third finishes in the 10000m for the Bearcats with Bienenfeld crossing the line at 28:10.95, shattering the current school record by 32 seconds.

With this mark, Bienenfeld currently holds the No.5 spot in the NCAA 10000m rankings and his third Top-10 national ranking this year. Bienenfeld concluded the indoor season nationally ranked No.7 in 3000m and No.5 in the 5000m with All-America nods.
