THE RUNDOWN
Cincinnati (17-9, 7-6 AAC) posted season-highs in three-point (57.9 percent) and overall (55.2) field-goal shooting in Thursday's 85-76 win over Wichita State. The Bearcats, who made 11 of their first 14 shots and never trailed, had a democratic offensive showing in David DeJulius (17 points), Mika Adams-Woods (15) and John Newman III (13) leading the way, with Jeremiah Davenport and Mason Madsen also knocking down three treys apiece.

DeJulius is 26-for-30 from the foul line (86.7 percent) over his last five games to go with 19 double-figure scoring outings overall. He is third (16.9 ppg) and fifth (44.7 FG%) in AAC play, one of two in each top-five. Out of Madsen's 21 three-pointers this year, 17 have come in wins and 18 have been at home. Davenport in AAC play has produced four 20-point scoring games and two double-doubles while ranking second in three-point percentage (41.7). His 68 treys are the team's most since HM All-American Jarron Cumberland's 79 in 2018-19. Last year, his 48 deep makes were 23 ahead of the next-closest Bearcat. The return of Abdul Ado paid large dividends as well, blocking four shots after missing the last game due to injury.

UC has posted a plus-4.3 rebounding margin in wins compared to minus-5.2 in losses. The Bearcats also improved to 16-3 when leading at the half and, thanks to their season-long defensive consistency, have seen 13 of its 17 wins come when scoring 70-plus points. UC ranks 21st in defensive shooting (39.5 percent) and 34th in turnovers per game (10.9) after ranking 186th and 267th, respectively. last season.

SERIES HISTORY
UC is 26-10 all-time against the Owls (14-9, 7-5 AAC), including a 12-4 AAC mark that included a nine-game win streak till the Owls' Jan. 25 win. The last four games have also been decided by nine combined points.

UC held a 14-point lead in Philadelphia earlier this year, but a few too many missed offensive opportunities allowed Temple to gain a 61-58 win despite shooting 33.9 percent itself. David DeJulius led the way with 15 points, the only one in double-figures.

The Bearcats won both meetings last year by five combined points, and each served as returns from extensive pauses. The 63-60 win in Philadelphia (Feb. 4) was the team's first game in 25 days, while the 71-69 home win eight days later was the team's first in Fifth Third Arena in 41 days.

DeJulius erupted for 26 points in that first matchup, one of his six double-figure scoring games and still stands as a career-high. Jeremiah Davenport also averaged 13.0 ppg over those two.

Temple head coach Aaron McKie and UC Director of Player Personnel DerMarr Johnson faced each other nine times in their respective NBA careers.
