CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati lacrosse team will look to build off its Tuesday magic and momentum with a Friday contest at Central Michigan (4 p.m. ET), before also taking on Michigan Sunday at 12 p.m. The Bearcats' 5-2 record is their best start since 2018.

LAST TIME OUT
Cincinnati scored a quality win over Davidson, one of the Atlantic 10's top teams, in overtime Tuesday, marking the first time since 2010 that the Bearcats had back-to-back OT contests. Lindsey Durkota fed Grace Wehland for the tying goal with 33 seconds left in regulation, and the two connected again on the same play in the extra session for the winner. Durkota had one assist all season in limited duty, and the winner was set up by Tori Accardo's caused turnover and ground ball.

TAKING OFFENSE
Cincinnati leads the AAC with 15.7 goals per game after ranking last the previous season at 11.7. Freshman Camryn Callaghan returned to the nation's top spot with 31 goals on the season, which also includes ranking sixth with 6.4 shots on goal per contest. The Upper Arlington native has hat tricks in all seven matches, the best since Kylie Nause (whose 63 goals marked the single-season record) had nine to begin 2022.

Lauren Ottensmeyer is second on the squad with 19 goals, including three each in the last two overtime battles against Ohio State and Davidson.

MLKVY MOVING UP
Dani Mlkvy tallied five more draw controls to hit 60 through the first seven games, which ranks seventh already at the school. Her sister, Sam, has the record of 97 in 2019, and Dani had 81 in her First-Team All-AAC campaign last season to rank third. She has also scooped 12 ground balls, tying Wehland for the team lead, and caused nine turnovers to pace the squad. UC overall leads the AAC with 15.0 per contest.

Mlkvy also had eight DCs against Marquette this season, and the Golden Eagles are the best team nationally in that category.

RUNNING LAPPS IN THE CAGE
Cincinnati goalkeeper Ashley Lapp had a season-high 12 saves in the 14-11 road win over Youngstown State, and has since added nine at Ohio State and eight against Davidson. Her last one against the Wildcats came in the waning seconds of regulation. She also has a 2.45 GAA improvement from last season at Akron.

SCOUTING CMU
Cincinnati leads the all-time matchup 6-1, with three of those contests separated by a goal. Last year's meeting in Nippert Stadium was a 12-11 UC victory. The Bearcats led 11-8 early in the third and took a 12-10 lead at 5:34 behind Nause's sixth goal, with the Chippewas' last score coming at 1:14. Cincinnati won several statistical battles by a decent margin, including 39-29 in shots, 22-11 in turnovers and 22-11 in ground balls.

CMU enters the day 2-4 that includes a neutral-site win over Cal in the opener and a 19-8 road blowout at Duquesne most recently.

SCOUTING MICHIGAN
The Wolverines have taken both meetings in 2019 and 2022, the last of which coming in Cincinnati. It was a tough day for the Bearcats, where the No. 11 Wolverines took leads of 6-1 and 13-2. Ava Goeller scored a goal and had a career-high six draw controls, while Nause added a hat trick.
