CINCINNATI, Ohio – Eight members of the Cincinnati Football program received CSC Academic All-District accolades on Tuesday.
 
Cornerback Ormanie Arnold, kicker Nathan Hawks, wide receiver Tony Johnson, offensive lineman Luke Kandra, tight end Michael McCalmont, running back Evan Pryor, defensive end Darian Varner, and safety Logan Wilson all received the award.
 
Kandra was selected to advance to the Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 28, 2025.
 
Kandra received his MBA last month and earned a spot on the Dean's List at UC four times. He posted a 3.65 GPA while pursuing his master's degree. On the field, the Cincinnati native started 24 straight games, serving as the top-rated right guard in the Big 12. Kandra earned various All-America honors in both 2023 and 2024 – most impressively earning Walter Camp All-America Second Team and Associated Press Third Team honors in 2023
 
To be eligible for Academic All-District, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be starters or major contributors for their respective programs.
