CINCINNATI, Ohio--The University of Cincinnati will reach out to support the community and one of its own during the men's basketball game against Seton Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 28. A winter clothing drive, sponsored by the Committee to Promote Athlete Welfare and Success (CPAWS), and donations to assist the family of men's basketball team member Mike Williams will be accepted at UC's final home game of the season.

For the second consecutive year, CPAWS is sponsoring a clothing drive with the proceeds benefiting St. George's Food Pantry, located on Dennis and Calhoun Streets near campus.

Cash donations are being taken for the Williams Family who tragically lost their home in Camden, Ala. last weekend due to fire. Williams is in his first year as a Bearcat and has sat out the year after transferring to Cincinnati.

Bins will be located in front of Fifth Third Arena and on both concourses prior to and during the game. Items such as jackets, winter hats and gloves, sweatshirts and sweatpants will be gladly accepted for the clothing drive. Last year's event netted 30 bags of clothing and over $700 in donations. CPAWS is requesting the help of all Bearcats fans in making this year's promotion an even greater success.

All 18 of UC's varsity sports are represented in CPAWS. The organization was developed by the UC Department of Athletics to help streamline communication between the Department of Athletics administration and the student-athletes, design and implement programs that encourage academic achievement, health promotion, social responsibility and general like skills awareness, actively encourage more student-athlete involvement in campus and community outreach activities and to promote "togetherness" and support for all varsity teams by encouraging attendance at the athletic competitions of fellow student-athletes.
