WBB Travels to Chattanooga to Face-Off Against the Mocs

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team travels to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to face off against the Mocs Wednesday, December 14th at the McKenzie Center. Tip off is at 7 p.m. ET.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team travels to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to face off against the Mocs Wednesday, December 14th at the McKenzie Center. Tip off is at 7 p.m. ET.

THE SERIES
The Bearcats lead the series 2-0. Last time out, Cincinnati won 72-53 at home in Fifth Third Arena. UC shot a season-high 47% (27-of-57) from the field and knocked down 44% (4-of-9) of its 3-point attempts. The Red & Black also drained 14-of-22 free throws and scored 40 points in the paint. Furthermore, the Bearcats outrebounded UTC 36-24 and turned 13 offensive rebounds into 18 second-chance points.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS 
The Bearcats are 5-4 on the season and are coming off a big win over Xavier on Sunday in the 43rd annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout. The Bearcats shot 42.4% from the field and 74% from the free throw line. The Bearcats tied their season-best six made three pointers with four coming from junior guard Caitlyn Wilson, who led the team with 15 points.

Sophomore forward Malea Williams earned a spot on the AAC Weekly honor roll after her career performance of 14 points, going a perfect 6-for-6 from field goal range, and also recorded two rebounds and two blocks in 18 minutes of play.

SCOUTING THE MOCS
Chattanooga is 1-9 on the season. In their last game against Eastern Kentucky, the Mocs fell 60-55 in a hotly contested battle. Hampel had 10 points for UTC with four rebounds while Abbey Cornelius had a team-high nine rebounds and seven points. Chattanooga shot 39 percent for the game and was 4-of-24 from the 3-point line.
 
Sophomore point guard Dena Jarrells leads the Southern Conference in assists with 31 on the year, averaging 3.4 per game.She matched her career-high with eight against Belmont and had seven at Kennesaw State and is ranked among the top 100 in the NCAA.
