Sandusky Earns AAC Male Athlete of the Week Honors for Cross-Country

CINCINNATI - After a victorious run in his 2021 season debut, University of Cincinnati senior Alec Sandusky has been selected as the American Athletic Conference Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced today. Sandusky, who took the top spot in the Butler Twilight Invite over the weekend in Carmel, Indiana, earned his first career weekly accolade from the AAC.

CINCINNATI - After a victorious run in his 2021 season debut, University of Cincinnati senior Alec Sandusky has been selected as the American Athletic Conference Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced today. Sandusky, who took the top spot in the Butler Twilight Invite over the weekend in Carmel, Indiana, earned his first career weekly accolade from the AAC.

Many of the UC runners ran with the top pack throughout the entire 6k. Sandusky hung with the top three and really pulled away during the last 1k to cross the line first with a time of 17:42.00.
Sandusky's average mile split was 4:44.8 and his overall margin of victory was just over seven seconds.

Overall, the men's team took first place of the six teams in attendance, claiming five of the top ten spots for UC.
