CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field program released its 2023-24 indoor schedule on Wednesday.
The Bearcats will hit the road for all eight meets lined up on the scheduled and will return to four that were on the 2022-23 schedule.
Cincinnati will kick off its inaugural season in the Big 12 by heading to Bloomington, Ind., for the Hoosier Open on Dec. 8. The Bearcats have opened their indoor season with the Hoosier Open in five of the past seven seasons. Last season, the team claimed seven event wins, recorded 11 all-time top 10 times and broke two school records.
The Bearcats will then take the rest of the month off for the winter break before returning to action at the Kentucky Invitational on Jan 12-13 in Louisville, Ky. The meet will be held at Louisville's indoor track and field facility but hosted by Kentucky. This will be the Bearcats first appearance at the meet since 2017.
Next, Cincinnati will make its second trip Indiana for the Gradstein Invitational on Jan. 19-20. The men's and women's teams recorded 11 top-5 finishes including four events wins last season.
Following the trip to Indiana, the Bearcats will head to Clemson for the Bob Pollock Invitational on Jan. 26-27. UC broke three program records and recorded 14 all-time UC top-10 times last year.
The Bearcats will then make their way to Lincoln, Neb., for the program's first appearance at the Frank Sevigne Invite on Feb. 2-3.
UC will close out its regular season with a trip to Nashville, Tenn., for the Music City Classic on Feb. 9-10. The Bearcats put on a show last time in Nashville, breaking five school records and three AAC records.
Cincinnati will then make its first-ever appearance at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships. The championship will be hosted by Texas Tech on Feb. 23-24 in Lubbock, Texas. More information about the championships can be found here.
The 2023 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for March 8-9 and will be held in Boston, Mass., at the TRACK at New Balance. The Bearcats had two NCAA qualifiers last season, including returner Fred Moudani-Likibi who earned First Team All-American Honors in the men's shot put with a sixth-place finish.
