A snowy afternoon in January 2023 in Nippert Stadium's West Pavilion set the stage for a major partnership between Cincinnati Athletics and Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the second-largest freight brokerage firm in North America and Cincinnati's largest private company.
The strategic partnership will include field level and stadium signage and logo assets for TQL as well as specific investment to the Bearcats' indoor practice and performance facility project.
While field surface branding typically results in renaming the venue, as a Cincinnati company, TQL has chosen to not name the field. It will continue to be named Carson Field in honor of Dr. Arch Carson, who organized the first football team at the university in 1885 and is known as the Father of UC Football.
Fast-forward to Summer 2025, and Cincinnati linebackers Jack Dingle and Jake Golday ceremoniously began their roles as ambassadors with the company.
"They reached out to our head NIL person, Eddie Taylor, and Eddie reached out to me to say TQL was looking to get ahold of me," Golday said. "I saw the opportunity, signed up for it, and then they basically met me out by the front door and kind of just walked me through everything. It was a great experience."
Taylor and his staff have been proactive at encouraging UC's student-athletes to experiment with TikTok and other platforms for their own content creation.
Fortunately for Dingle and Golday, the videos on each of their Instagrams were produced by TQL's squad. Golday even joked that while he is fine with media interviews and more, it was a little bit different, yet fun, seeing himself in that new space.
"They had a big team that took us through the whole building," Dingle said. "The cameras were following us throughout and showing us some new things that they have, and the environment and culture they have there is awesome. They made me feel like home."
Dingle also said he intends to go into sales after his football career is over, describing his TQL experience as an opportunity to "see what's out there."
"I'm always looking to build any possible connection, because I know football's not going to last forever," Golday said. "I think making that connection with TQL is huge, and it was a win-win for the both of us. I got to build the connections and I got to spread their brand out to other people as well. It was a great opportunity."
