  • Two way starter at end on the 1957-58-59 teams.
  • Earned the John Pease Award as the team's most outstanding lineman in 1958 and 1959, beating out teammates Ron Kostelnik, Jim Leo, Max Messner and Ken Byers--all of whom went on to the pro ranks.
  • Named to the Pop Warner Academic All-American Team as a senior.
  • Drafted by Denver of the fledgling American Football League but the College Conservative of Music graduate turned down pro football to launch his acting career.
  • Became a regular on the TV series Bonanza and is a member of the cast of the Emmy-winning daytime drama All My Children.
  • UC Athletic Hall of Fame 2005.
