Enrolled at UC following service in the Navy during World War II, and as a freshman, quarterbacked the Bearcats to one of their greatest seasons ever, featuring a win over defending Big Ten champion Indiana and a victory over Virginia Tech in the Sun Bowl.
Four-year letterwinner.
Moved to defense during his sophomore season and enjoyed similar success.
Also served as the team's punter.
Active in campus life, elected to the Sigma Sigma and ULEX honoraries.
UC Athletic Hall of Fame 1995.
