Gene Rossi
  • Three-year starter and team passing leader.
  • Topped the 1,000-yard mark in passing in each of his three seasons.
  • Concluded his career as UC's all-time leader in passes attempted (492), completions (257), completion percentage (.522), passing yards (4,003) and TD passes (37), all of which still rank him among the Bearcat leaders.
  • Led UC to a 26-6-1 record as a starter.
  • Three-time All-Mid-American Conference selection.
  • Earned All-Ohio honors his junior and senior seasons.
  • Honorable mention All-American in both 1951 (Colliers) and 1952 (AP, UPI, Colliers).
  • Jersey number (28) retired.
  • Selected by Baltimore in the 1953 NFL draft but played professionally in Canada.
  • UC Athletics Hall of Fame 1984.
