USF Games Notes vs. Cincinnati (Oct. 24, 2014)



-          Cincinnati won the toss and elected to defer. USF received the opening kickoff. USF has won the toss three times this season (UConn, East Carolina).



-          Kickoff conditions: 64 degrees, clear, winds 4 MPH out of the southwest



TEAM



·         Cincinnati leads the all-time series 8-3



OFFENSE



·         Andre Davis had six receptions for 77 yards. He moved into first place in career receptions at USF with 136, passing Hugh Smith. Davis now owns all 12 of USF's receiving records.



·         Andre Davis' fourth quarter touchdown was his USF-leading fifth of the season and 15th of his career.



·         Andre Davis has had at least six receptions and at least one touchdown in all three games since he returned from injury against East Carolina.



·         For his career, Andre Davis has 136 receptions, 1,941 yards and 15 touchdowns.



·         Marlon Mack set the record for rushing yards in a season by a freshman. His 781 yards rushing passed B.J. Daniels who had 772 yards in 2009.



·         Marlon Mack moved up three spots to seventh on USF's season rushing list to with 781 yards rushing.



·         Quarterback Steven Bench, who entered the game in the third quarter, had a 67-yard touchdown pass to Rodney Adams. It was a career-long pass for Bench and a career long reception for Adams. It was also the third longest play of the season by the Bulls.



·         Steven Bench's two touchdown passes were a career high.



·         Marlon Mack's three receptions were a career high.



DEFENSE



·         Nigel Harris' forced fumble in the third quarter was his fifth of the season which is a school record and ranks first in the NCAA. Harris also forced the fumble which was his second of the season. USF entered the game ranked 30th in the NCAA in turnovers gained with 14.



·         Nigel Harris led the Bulls with 11 total tackles. Harris has led the Bulls in tackles twice in his career.



·         Freshman Kendall Sawyer's forced running back Mike Boone to fumble at the goal line in the fourth quarter which went out of the end zone for a touchback. It was his first career forced fumble.



·         Freshman Josh Black's third quarter sack was the first of his career.



SPECIAL TEAMS



·         Kicker Marvin Kloss made a 44-yard field goal in the first quarter. Kloss has made a field goal in 10 consecutive games. It was his fourth field goal made inside 40 yards.
