MILWAUKEE - Cincinnati freshman guard Valerie King was named the Conference USA Tournament Most Valuable Player on Monday night following a 63-50 loss to Tulane in the championship game.

King, who averaged 20.8 points per game, became the first UC women's basketball player to earn MVP honors in the C-USA Tournament. Joining her on the All-Tournament team was sophomore point guard K.B. Sharp, who averaged 11.8 points and 6.8 assists per game. It was the first time two Cincinnati players were named all-tournament in the same year.

Both players tied tournament marks with King matching a tournament and school record with six 3-pointers against Tulane and Sharp tying a tournament record with 10 assists against South Florida in the first round. The Bearcats opened up the season recording its best non-conference record since the 1988-89
