CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team won its second straight spring exhibition match with a victory over Ball State, 2-1, at Meyers Field on Friday night. The match served as the opener to a weekend of UC soccer events as the program hosts alumni day on Saturday, April 7.

Both UC goals came in the first half; the first provided by Amy Mink on an assist from Lisa Day midway through the second half. Mink received a cross from Day on the right side and blasted a shot from 10-yards out past the Ball State goalkeeper.

The Bearcats' game-winner came from Amy Simonson on an assist from Rachel Liebermann at the end of the first half. Liebermann dribbled down the right side and crossed the ball to Simonson in the middle. Simonson one timed the ball into the net for the game-winner.

The Cardinals put a goal on the board late in the second half to end the chances of a shutout for the Bearcats.

The Bearcats next spring exhibition match will be against the Kolping Bengals on Tuesday, April 10 at 7 p.m.
