UC Men's Golf 19th After First Day at Marshall Invite

CINCINNATI, Ohio. (April 6) -- The University of Cincinnati men's golf team ended the first round of play in 19th place at the Marshall Invitational at the Guyan Golf and Country Club in Huntington, W.Va. on Friday
Sophomore Neil Lykins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) was the top Bearcat finisher, finishing the day one tied for 21st place after shooting a 144 (76-68). Freshman Chris Larbes (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) fired a 144 (78-76) to sit in 86th place, while senior Brad Wilder (Park Hills, Ky./Covington) shot a 155 (78-77) to finish tied for 87th. Freshman Craig Smith (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) posted a 157 (75-82) to finish tied for tied for 94th. Senior Ryan Lilly (Ironton, Ohio/Moeller) carded a 159 (79-80) to place 96th to round out UC scorers.
Cincinnati shot a combined 608 (301-305-305) after two days of play, 50 strokes behind leader Ohio State who finished day one with a card of 558 (283-275) at the par-71, 6,446 yard Guyan Golf Course.
The Bearcats play the final round of the Marshall Invite on Saturday, April 7 with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
